Note: The UPort 1410 will not include a power supply. The power supply is not needed for the unit to function properly. UPort 1410 takes power from the USB bus. Please select "Bus" on the switch on back of UPort 1410 for the unit to be powered off the USB port. Moxa engineers have done extensive testing and have verified that a power supply is not needed with one –RARE- exception. Some laptop and desktop models as well as non-powered USB hubs do not provide enough power per USB Port. The standard for USB is 500mA and the UPort only requires 180mA. In these –RARE- cases, an external power supply can be purchased separately and used to power the unit (after setting the switch to "Ext.").
